My partner and I 50/50 sharemilk on a dairy farm in beautiful South Taranaki, on the North Island of New Zealand.
A 50/50 sharemilker is a dairy farmer who owns the herd of cows, but not the land that they are farming on. We split the milk payment 50/50 with the farm owners.
Our ultimate goal is to own our own farm. Until that time our intermediate goal's are to increase our farming networks, further our farming knowledge, and improve our farming practices to increase production, while limiting our environmental impacts.
